Salem Academy Head Girls Basketball Coach
Coach Houle has nearly 20 year of coaching experience at all different levels. On November 6, 1999 Coach Houle was in route to Salem Oregon to pastor a church in Salem and coach at Salem Academy and was hit head on by an oncoming vehicle at 70 mph. The girl that hit him died at impact. God spared Coach Houle’s life and 30 days later was determine to get to Salem to pastor the church that called him 90 days earlier.
When Coach Houle finally got to Salem he was asked to coach the middle school boys program at Salem Academy. He coach from a chair for the first two years because of his injuries and coached the middle school program from 2000-2004. In 2005 coach Houle took over the Salem Academy girls program. After a long first year things began to turn around. In the first six years the program was turned into a state contender each year. Coach Houle has also been selected to the OACA All Star Series coaching staff five times (2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011).
Coach Houle has 131 wins in six years at Salem Academy and eight 20-victory seasons as a coach that spans ten years. Coach Houle has a 90% winning record in OSAA State competition.

This is Coach Houle’s second tenure at Salem Academy to coach the mighty Lady Crusaders.
Coaches Personal Information:
Coach Houle was been married for 30 years to Kim and has three boys. Coach Houle accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 1977.
